Westhill Nursery
Nursery interior design | Ryde, Isle of Wight
Set within a listed Victorian building in the grounds of Ryde School, Westhill Nursery was created as a nurturing early-years environment designed to inspire imagination, exploration and learning. The brief was to provide a warm, home-from-home setting that met the practical needs of a modern nursery while respecting the architectural character of the property.
Drawing on the client’s vision for a ‘Mary Poppins’ inspired setting, we developed a whimsical Victorian scheme with calming colours, playful details and bespoke features. Original architectural elements were reinstated, while a tree-shaped library, classroom treehouse and carefully planned room settings encouraged independent learning and different forms of play. Durable materials and practical layouts ensure the nursery works successfully for its educators while creating a welcoming environment in which children feel comfortable and engaged.
